What-if stress tests
What if everything moved?
Nudge each position between minus 50 and plus 50 percent, or move them all at once, and read the damage or the upside in your own numbers. A scenario is a question, not a forecast.
Hypothetical arithmetic. Not investment advice.
Nothing to stress yet
This page runs on the holdings you enter on the dashboard. Add at least one position with a quantity and a price, or load a small illustrative portfolio to try the sliders.

Per position
Set each one yourself
Drag, or focus a slider and use the arrow keys for 1% steps and Page Up or Page Down for 10%. You can also type any value from −50 to 50 in the box.
Allocation shift
Before and after
Widths show each position’s share of the whole. Exact percentages are in the table below, so nothing depends on colour.

Pure arithmetic
The recovery curve
Losses and gains are not symmetric. After a fall of L percent you need a rise of 1 ÷ (1 − L) − 1 just to get back to where you started.
It would need to rise 42.9% to break even.
| Fall | Rise needed |
|---|---|
| 10% | 11.1% |
| 20% | 25.0% |
| 30% | 42.9% |
| 50% | 100.0% |
| 75% | 300.0% |
Assumptions
What this test does and does not do
- Instant and independent. Each position is multiplied by your shift once. There is no timeline, no correlation between holdings and no rebalancing along the way.
- Your prices, not the market’s. The starting point is exactly what you typed on the dashboard. Stale prices give stale answers.
- No costs. Fees, taxes, dividends, currency moves and the gap between a quoted price and an executed one are all ignored.
- Range limit. Shifts stop at −50% and +50% so the sliders stay readable. Wider moves are easy to reason about by hand with the recovery curve.
- Nothing is saved here. Slider positions reset when you leave the page. Your holdings stay in this browser until you clear them.
